Our Story

We're just a family who fell in love with real food, honest living, and the sound of chickens in the morning — and decided to share it with our neighbors.

Chickens and horses roaming freely at Misty Morning Farm

From a Dream to a Way of Life

Misty Morning Farm didn't start with a business plan. It started with a piece of land in the Blue Ridge mountains of Blairsville, Georgia, a handful of chickens, and a stubborn belief that food should come from somewhere you can actually point to on a map.

We named it Misty Morning Farm because of those early hours when fog rolls through the valley and everything is quiet except for the hens scratching around the yard. There's something peaceful and right about that. That's the feeling we want people to get from our food.

In 2023, we officially started offering our pasture-raised eggs to the local community, and the response humbled us. Neighbors who'd never tasted truly fresh eggs came back the next week — and the week after that.

The Way We Farm

We're not a factory. We're not trying to be. Here's what matters to us every single day on this land.

Happy Animals, Better Food

Our hens have real space to roam, scratch, and live like chickens should. That's not just kindness — it shows up directly in the quality of every egg they lay.

No Shortcuts, No Compromises

No antibiotics. No hormones. No industrial shortcuts. What you get from us is exactly what it looks like — real food from real animals living real lives.

Community First

We're not trying to ship to strangers across the country. We want to feed our neighbors — people we see at the hardware store, at church, at the gas station. That's the whole point.

Rooted in This Place

Blairsville is home. The mountains, the seasons, the soil — it all shapes how we farm. We're proud to be part of this community and to grow food that reflects where we live.

Freshness You Can Count On

We collect eggs every single day. When you pick up from us, your eggs might be hours old — not weeks from a warehouse shelf. That freshness is something you can see, smell, and taste.

Quality Over Quantity

We'll never push our hens harder than they should go or sacrifice the quality of what we offer to move more volume. When we're sold out, we're sold out — and that's okay with us.

Our Girls

We have a mixed flock that we're genuinely proud of. Our Rhode Island Reds are the workhorses — reliable, hardy, and sweet-tempered. Our Ameraucanas are the ones that surprise you with their blue and sage-green eggs.

Every morning before the sun gets too high, we open the coop and watch them pour out into the pasture. They scratch, they dust bathe, they chase bugs, they annoy the horses a little bit. It's a good life for a chicken.

In the evening when they put themselves to bed, we do a head count, collect any late eggs, and make sure everyone is settled. It's a rhythm that grounds the whole day.
